“Cowboy Action Shooting is a multifaceted amateur shooting sport in which contestants compete with firearms typical of those used in the taming of the Old West: single action revolvers, lever action rifles and side by side double barreled, pre-1899 pump or lever action shotguns. The shooting competition is staged in a unique, characterized, Old West style.” (CAS Shooter's Handbook) At events, it is required for contestants to wear either historical re-enactment costumes or clothing typical of the late 19th century, a B-Western movie or Western television series.
The shooting season runs from the beginning of May to September. Practices are alternating Tuesday evenings and the 4th Sunday of the month. Check the calendar for the schedule.
